CourseCo believes that while only 10% of the population plays golf, we have an obligation to serve the entire community. We recognize the importance of ensuring that diverse voices are heard and that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the community and benefit from its resources and services. At our core – it is important that our programming is not only affordable, but accessible to the community members we serve.
Community inclusion is important to us for a variety of reasons, including:
- Promoting equity and social justice: Community inclusion helps to ensure that all members of the community have access to recreation at our facilities; including opportunities to enjoy the course, learn a new skill or simply enjoy this community’s asset - regardless of their background or circumstances. This includes low-cost or no-cost events that are safe and family friendly.
- Building trust and relationships: When community members are involved in decision-making and program development, they are more likely to feel a sense of ownership and investment in the community and at the course level.
- Enhancing program effectiveness: By involving members of the community in program development, organizations can benefit from diverse perspectives and expertise. This can help to ensure that our programs are well-designed and effective. Hosting programs like First Tee, Youth on Course and other local organizations help to provide local communities with access to play, learn, and grow in the game of golf.
Creating golf courses that provide memories, recreation and all-inclusive opportunities is important to us. Community inclusion is just one of the ways we can help to build strong, inclusive communities that are healthy, vibrant, and sustainable.
